A start from scratch effort for this week’s Illustration Friday theme. Couldn’t get Van Halen’s “Jump” out of my head when considering options so there’s a passing reference in there. Typical, I think, of any type of signature style that’s developing at the moment. Adobe Illustrator.

More graphic in style and design from my usual contributions to postings here although thought process the same. Suited my limited timescales this week tho! Looked for inspiration on the news stands, all the reams of puzzler type publications although images for these tend to be stock photos or unrelated cartoon illustrations, tight budgets I suppose. Inspired by a recent festive sunday magazine article that hand held, (where appropriate obviously), the reader on the often hazardous assault course that is Christmas dinner preparation in the most patronising way possible. “Avoid cross-contamination and practice good kitchen hygiene. Always use individual chopping boards, colour coded ones are a practical solution in keeping different food stuffs separated! Wash your hands (you will have two initially) before preparing and touching food. Exercise caution when using sharp knives, but you’ll probably be ok with really blunt ones. See that boiling pan on the hob, it might be hot! “Perhaps more advisable to visit to a restaurant for Xmas this year! Print out and colour in the illustration above. Those nice people at modernbrands.com.au,( blue opal is the trading name), have made a star out of my dog character, first seen here, by making him the “face” of one of their board games in Australia. For those interested, more details of the game are available on their online brochure. Any game that features pooper scoopers and dog pooh has got to be a success in my book.
